Archbishop Benson Idahosa was the founder of CHURCH OF GOD MISSION INTERNATIONAL with Head quarter in Benin city, Nigeria. He was also the founder of Benson Idahosa University (BIU) and was president of All Nations for Christ Bible Institute, Idahosa Outreach and Faith Medical Centre.

EDUCATION
Because young Idahosa was a sickly, his father rejected him and at one instance asked the mother to dump him in the dust bin. Growing up in such an environment was not easy, talk less of education. 
He actually was working on a farm as a servant. He only started school when he was 14, and still his education was irregular.
He later took correspondence courses from Britain and the US while working with Bath Shoe Company.

CONVERSION
Bishop Idahosa grew up as a pagan. One day while they were playing football at a pitch near a church, he started targeting the pastor by aiming the ball to his head through the window. After 5 failed attempts, the 6th attempt was projected back to him and hit him in the chest so bad that he was almost passing out. The scene attracted the pastor who prayed for him and he was healed. He then followed the pastor to the church and surrendered his life to Jesus.
Pastor Okpo succeeded to convert Idahosa in 1957.

MINISTRY
Bishop Benson Idahosa established over 6,000 churches throughout Nigeria and Ghana before 1971. His motto was "Evangelism our supreme task".
God used him to perfor numerous miracles, including raising 28 dead people.
He was associated with international ministers like Billy Graham, T.L. Osborn, Kenneth Hagin, Benny Hinn, Reinhard Bonnke, etc. And took the gospel to over 145 countries.

He is also the father of pentecostalism in Nigeria and gave birth directly or indirectly to most African Gospel ministers like Bishop David Oyedepo, Pastor E.A Adeboye, Pastor Chris, and lots more.

DEATH
After preaching in the Bible School, he went for a lunch with a team from Oral Roberts University. Suddenly a gentle breeze blew in their midst, and next Bishop Idahosa just bowed his head and started saying THANK YOU LORD...The people with him closed their eyes and started saying the words with him thinking that he was praying. After a while he became silent, and that was his end.
